The Great Rose Window of Strasbourg Cathedral; installed in the 14th century, is a gothic masterpiece measuring 15 meters in diameter which reflects the roundness of the earth, sun, and moon. Featuring ears of wheat and represents the city’s commercial power during the Middle Ages and symbolizes God watching over us from heaven.
These windows were often used to illustrate Bible stories from the pulpit for those who couldn’t read.
This item is framed with zinc came channel around its edge, which has been painted black.
